With the enactment of the Companies Act, 2013, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has emerged as a vital mechanism for driving welfare and development across the State of Gujarat. The Act mandates companies to actively participate in nation-building through structured CSR initiatives, significantly expanding their role in social development.

Recognizing this opportunity, and given Amdavad Municipal Corporation’s strong commitment to improving, there has been an increasing emphasis on optimizing the impact and reach of CSR funding. The goal is to ensure effective utilization of CSR resources in priority social sectors such as health, education, skill development, sanitation, and environmental sustainability.

What is AMC CSR Cell?

AMC-MET has been nominated as the CSR Cell of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and functions as the nodal office. The trust was formed with the objective of serving the citizens of Ahmedabad by working closely with corporates through CSR partnerships. The focus is on effective and optimum use of CSR resources for projects benefiting the city. AMC-MET holds a valid CSR-1 certificate and fulfils all trust-related compliances to undertake activities under Schedule VII of the CSR Act. The CSR Cell functions under the guidance of Hon’ble Dy. Municipal Commissioner, IAS Shri Jayesh Upadhyay, with Shri Rahul S. Shah, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, designated as the CSR Nodal Officer.
